Biofuel may not be such a great idea, says Peter Huber.

ok, you have to admit this guy starts off his article pretty biased by saying, "This is a blunder, one they will regret more than any of their previous blunders." It made me want to stop reading the article but that would make me biased as well and I didn't want to sink to that level.

His second mistake is when he says "America has a lot of spare prairie".. maybe he hasn't read up on his history and env science but America has less than 2% of it's original prairie and it's not like we can waste what 2% we do have left. He's saved by the fact that more prairie will hopefully be created to produce biofuel.

Now as for the rest of the article about carbs and splitting enzymes... he may very well be right that this could level the earth of forests and everything. But there is one thing I have that I think everyone has to have in order to go on and be happy- that's hope. We can only hope that with this new technology people are smart enough to understand how and where to use it without it getting out of control. Now our history has shown us that we are good at letting things get out of control (look at WWII, look at Africa, look at global warming) but I can always hope it will be better in the future.
