Too often I'm embarrassed by the public actions of Christians. But the recent stand of John Sentamu against the thug in charge of Zimbabwe is an important act of courage. Sentamu is the Archbishop of York, second in command in the Church of England, which is my church.

Before you click on the link, form a picture in your head of what the Archbishop of York should look like. There's more background here.

Well, it's not exactly hard to be embarrassed by our Brothers and Sisters out there...but hey who are we to judge anyway :-)

I like the fact that he's black (or is that African-English?). Finally some color in church. It's hard to believe sometimes that churches can be either so white or so black. I think I understand why that is...and it's not a good thing for the Body as a whole.

That second article you posted gave a nice background.

Wow, I was gonna pick on the guy for misusing literally, but I just looked it up. People have misused the word for so long that its literally had its meaning changed. (Or rather, it is now allowed both meanings)

Damn

My apologize to the Archbishop for doubting him. Good show.
