What's Nerzhin? Something you just made up? Under a google search of the word you are the 4th hit.
Gleb Nerzhin is a character from The First Circle by Solzhenitzyn, which depending on what day of the week you ask me might be my favorite novel. Like me, Nerzhin was a mathematician whose specialty was the numerical solution of differential equations. Unlike me, he was awesome and stuck up for his principles at great personal cost.
